Your UK Data Rights

A short, plain-English guide to your rights when Nova Grid Hosting processes your personal data, and how to exercise them.

Effective Date

This page is effective as of July 12, 2026.

Who This Page Is For

This page is for anyone in the United Kingdom whose personal data we hold: typically our customers, prospective customers, affiliate partners, and visitors to novagridhosting.com. The rights below come from the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

For the full legal text of how we process your data (including the lawful basis for each processing activity, our retention periods, and our subprocessors) see our Privacy Policy. This page summarises the part of that policy you are most likely to need.

Who We Are, in Short

Nova Grid Hosting LLC (trading as Nova Grid Hosting) is the data controller responsible for the personal data we collect about you. We are based in the United States, and you can contact us directly about your data at privacy@novagridhosting.com or through the "How to Exercise Any of These Rights" section below.

Your Rights, in Plain English

1. The right to be informed

You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, why we hold it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. Our Privacy Policy covers this.

2. The right of access

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is sometimes called a "subject access request" or DSAR. We will respond within one month, free of charge for a reasonable request.

3. The right to rectification

If any of the data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask us to correct or complete it.

4. The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

You can ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances, for example, if it is no longer needed for the purpose we collected it for, or if you have withdrawn consent. We may need to keep some records for tax or legal-compliance reasons; if so, we will tell you which.

5. The right to restrict processing

You can ask us to suspend processing of your data while we look into a rectification request, an erasure request, or an objection.

6. The right to data portability

You can ask us to provide a copy of the data you have given us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, for example, so you can give it to another service provider.

7. The right to object

You can object to us processing your data on the basis of "legitimate interests" (for example, our security and fraud-prevention processing). We will stop unless we can show a compelling legitimate ground that overrides your interests, or unless processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. You can also object at any time to direct marketing, and we will stop without exception.

8. Rights about automated decisions

You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. We do not currently make any such decisions about you.

9. The right to withdraw consent

Where we rely on your consent to process your data (for example, if you opt in to marketing emails or accept the cookie banner) you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing we did before you withdrew it.

How to Exercise Any of These Rights

Email privacy@novagridhosting.com with:

  • Your name and the email address associated with your account (if you have one);
  • Which right you are exercising (you can use plain English, "I'd like a copy of my data" is fine);
  • Any specific details that help us find your data (for example, the domain name on your account).

We may ask you for a small amount of additional information to verify that you are the person whose data we are sharing or deleting. This is to protect you from someone impersonating you. We will not ask for more than is necessary.

We will respond within one month. If your request is complex or if you have made several requests, we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you why within the first month.

Exercising your rights is free of charge in most cases. We may charge a reasonable fee, or refuse to act, only if a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. We will explain our reasoning before doing so.

If You Are Not Happy with Our Response

We would much rather hear from you first if you think something has gone wrong, so please email us before escalating. But you also have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

  • Online: ico.org.uk/concerns
  • Phone: 0303 123 1113 (UK only) or +44 1625 545 745 (from outside the UK)
  • Post: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, United Kingdom

Lodging a complaint is your statutory right; you do not need our permission, and we will not retaliate against you in any way for doing so.
